Nigeria Connection und das FBI

Sogenannte Mails von der Nigeria Connection hat sicher fast jeder schon mal bekommen (Beispielsweise hier oder hier). Das Prinzip ist immer gleich: Herr Uggubuggu, der letzte noch lebende Diener des Hundes eines gerade heimlich verstorbenen Millionärs will schnell ein paar Millionen aus dem Land schaffen, bevor die Regierung merkt, dass da noch Geld ist.

Also schickt er wildfremden Leuten E-Mails und bietet eine Beteiligung am Gewinn an. Dafür müsse man nur ein Konto eröffnen und das Geld entgegennehmen.

Grundsätzlich geht es dabei um zwei Arten von Transaktionen: Einerseits um “Vorschuß-Betrug“, bei dem das Opfer erst mal was bezahlt (Anwaltskosten, Bankgebüren), bevor es zur Überweisung des gesamten Geldbetrages kommen soll, und andererseits um Geldwäsche, z.B. von durch Phishing oder gestohlenen Kreditkarten erlangtem Geld.

Lange Rede, kurzer Sinn: Das folgende ist neu…
